My sense of frugelness fuels my creativity

I picked myself up off the floor after seeing the prices of a distressed farmhouse table---not an ANTIQUE---just a regular table made to look old. Now you guys know what it's like to look at something and think........shoot........I could do that!!!!! So, I did what all girls do.....I went to daddy for advice. He had some old spindles we used for legs, we made a frame, biscuited some 2 x 6 pine together and the fun began. I used the crackle technique on the underside, painted the legs and distressed them and the secret to the top is Briwax. It stains while it waxes and the table top is so soft I have to rub it everytime I pass it. Of course, I have still yet to weave the ladder back chairs ( found free) but that's just around the corner.
